We are flying Air France home the whole way:
11 hours to Paris
9.5 hours to Atlanta
5 hours to Portland
We have 2.5 hour layovers in between the stops. So all in all a 30 hour trip!
All in all it’s been a fun trip – and very eye opening. It’s hard to vacation in a country where people work so hard for so little money, but very good to be enlightened to their way of life. Also the 95% deforestation and the resulting ecosystem degradation was hard to see, but also a good reminder of what’s at stake in terms of people learning to coexist with nature.
The constant driving during our tour also wore on me. But I cherish the time I got to spend with Christian, especially at the wonderful Anjajavy, all the new animals we got to meet, and all the warmth we received from the Malagasy people.

Our jumbo jet ready to take us to Paris.
